For most of us the thought of changing our lifestyle to lose weight makes us shudder. If you start making small changes at a time and gradually every week add more changes you will be more successful with your results. Doing it this way can be less frustrating than changing everything all at once. So think baby steps. What is a small lifestyle change that you can make and go from there. Think positive about the things that you can do or have done. Do not allow the words failure, diet, have to or cheating to be a part of your vocabulary. They are negative words and tend to lead to your quitting before you even get started.

Most of today’s society is plagued with muscular imbalances due to repetitive patterns of movement which place undue stress on the body. That includes sitting or standing for long periods, and repeating the same movements overtime. Muscular imbalance are a result of poor movement of the joints, inappropriate muscles taking over the function of the primary muscles, and decreased nueromuscular control. Static stretching is a great way to correct this.

Now, more than ever parents are becoming concerned about the fitness of their kids. This is no secret given the problems of childhood obesity and the increasing weight and lack of fitness that we are seeing in children. Child obesity and diabetes levels are rising dramatically. There is also the issue that many parents feel, which is that schools are paying less attention and devoting less time to physical education than they used to and that children’s activity levels are reduced as a result. All of this comes at a time when there is more television and video game distractions than ever that are tearing children away from the more physical activities that they would have once engaged in.
